We recommend users with tracking issues to try our ‘Grip to Putt’ option! Toggling this ON means that users will need to press and hold down the ‘Trigger’ button on their controllers to activate the putter head and physically putt the ball.
Try these other tips and tricks to help clear up any tracking issues:
- Ensure that your gameplay space is bright. Some specific lights, such as fairy lights or Christmas lights, can cause issues for the headset’s camera and present tracking issues. Highly reflective items such as windows can cause glare that also disrupts tracking.
- The controller grip style can vary depending on the person, and some people may find they inadvertently cover up some internal controller sensors that help with tracking. Try out different grip styles.
- On the topic of controllers, ensure that your controller battery life is good. Sometimes, when a battery is running lo,w it can cause tracking issues.
- Because Walkabout Mini Golf only utilizes one controller, the secondary controller can sometimes cause issues for tracking. We recommend you place your unused controller well outside your Guardian Boundary or outside the room you’re playing in. Some users will just not wake up the unused controller upon device use (Quest), or they will remove the batteries out of the unused controller.
- On the topic of Guardian Boundaries, try completely resetting your boundary and recreating it to see if this helps with tracking issues.
- Give your headset and controller(s) a good clean. Sometimes grime, dust, and other buildup can block cameras or sensors.
